Exp can be done solo :) "end game" events like primes, dungeons,AF fights you need help better to get it from a LS atm everyone is doing them so you should start soon to not miss the boat

If you decide to play you should consider making your character on Ragnarok (EU World), there are always tons of people on during our play times.

By the way, I solo all the time (haven't found a LS yet) and apart from some quests and AF fights you don't need a group...It does get pretty lonely though. :-/

No wyverns for drg atm unless I've missed something. It's worth adding to what's been said so far that some things require a minimum number of party members so even if you could solo it you can't go it alone.

As far as forums go every1 is right in a way dragoon shouldnt be considered as a "pet" job but in facts r as follows......
The exact definition of the character varies between settings, but as a general rule, fantasy Dragoons are related to Dragons in some way or another.
So for every1 you should expect a pet dragon for dragoon in time to come

That may be true but as a rule of fantasy the creators of a world are not bound keep things as they normally are. Elvaan in FFXI make a good example because even though they are almost identical to elves physically, statistically and lore wise they are mostly the opposite. I havn't leveled drg yet so I don't know what the lore there is but unless there is something that says specifically that dragoons tamed and fought alongside dragons there is no reason to think it could happen.

Dragoons hunt dragons in this game. They don't hang out together for beers and questing.

I'm pretty sure if you load up any game that is full screen ffxi will shut down.
Had that problem with aion, wow and eq2.
I think you may be able to load both games if they are both windowed.

Well then, I'm sure that could be a multitude of reasons for that.

Are you playing windowed or full screen?
Do you have UAC enabled? Screen flicker with a prompt to allow the program access?
What version of windows?
If windows 7, you may have to set ffxiboot.exe to run as administrator(not 100% if required).
Umm... what graphics card are you running?

That's all I can think of atm

Hi, I'm starting soon too. Currently downloading the updates. Anyanne Moon said that Ragnarok is the EU server? Is it region specific or just has the highest number of EU players?

Ragnarok was designated as the official EU server during the server merges, but it still has NA and JP players.

It's quite dead compared to other servers, from what I've seen and heard.

It is indeed exceptionally quiet, I made a mule and logged in at various times of the day and on different days for a couple of weeks, I hardly saw anyone :(

It was a nice idea, but it's failed from what I see. Kashuan was busier than that and we had to merge xD

I am so glad now, I never chose to go there on my main, despite wanting a nice group of EU players to party with.

Hyperion forever <3

It's worse than Kashuan? Everytime I went there before merge it was dead so it must be bad xD (I remember using search once and only about 120 people were online)

Exactly lol and Trabia was even quieter as a previous link somewhere on here shows..I logged into Kashuan/Trabia as same time to compare and have recently done the same with Hyperion/Ragnarok, and it's just a shame it's so quiet..I think a future merge will be required as if it's that quiet now, imagine as people tail away as they usually do.

Kashuan was full of players just sitting around town so neener neener.

Trabia was cooler, in my unbiased opinion. :P

Hmmmmmm, I'd say Kash had the hotter players.

But I don't think you would say that. ;)

It might seem like its dead, but that is because people are actually out in the world doing things, not town sitting using it like a chat program.

Party search showed very few people online. Everywhere here in Hyperion is packed with people all the time.
