Who wants to play "Guess the BLU spell!"? This time, based only on the mp cost, level, and element! ;) I'm sure you guys will get some animations to help you out soon enough.

All of the data available for now, I can't seem to find any animations to go along with Julian's info, possible that they haven't been added yet.

Judging by spell cast times and elements, it looks like 6 or so physical spells, 3 buffs/debuffs, and 4 nukes.

7 non-HNM and 6 HNM spells. That's still a few short when it comes to upgrading all of our traits, unless they make some multipurpose or add traits to older spells.

multi-purpose would be cool, but SE likes to make BLU's suffer so I doubt they'd be so kind.

6 HNM spells is kinda lame imo. Speaking of HNMs, please give us some decent physical spells vs HNMs (heavy strike except useful).

I don't believe that Frozen Mist was ever actually announced on the official forums (though I might be wrong since I rarely frequent them), but it was one of the spells added recently in the .dat files.

The following new learnable spells will be added for blue mages:

Quadrastrike
Delivers a fourfold attack. Chance of critical hit varies with TP.

Vapor Spray
Deals water breath damage to enemies within a fan-shaped area originating from the caster. Additional effect: Poison.

Thunder Breath
Deals thunder breath damage to enemies within a fan-shaped area originating from the caster.

Orcish Counterstance
Increases the caster's chance of countering.

Amorphic Spikes
Delivers a fivefold attack. Damage varies with TP.

Wind Breath
Deals wind breath damage to enemies within a fan-shaped area originating from the caster.

Barbed Crescent
Damage varies with TP. Additional effect: Accuracy Down.

Spells castable only while under the effect of Unbridled Learning:

Absolute Terror
Freezes target in fear.

Gates of Hades
Deals fire damage to enemies within area of effect. Additional effect: Burn.

Tourbillion
Delivers an area attack. Additional effect duration varies with TP. Additional effect: Weakens defense.

Pyric Bulwark
Resists physical damage.

Bilgestorm
Delivers an area attack. Additional effect duration varies with TP. Additional effect: Lowers attack, defense, and accuracy.

Bloodrake
Delivers a threefold attack. Damage varies with TP. Additional effect: HP Drain.

Sounds awesome, but looking at the MP cost and recast, it doesn't seem like it'd be all that great. I mean, 18 MP and 11 second recast doesn't seem like it'd be like MNK Counterstance. But then 4 second Casting Time, so doesn't look like it'd be like MNK Perfect Counter either. Guess we'll just have to see.

This sounds like it could be interesting. Given that it's an HNM spell the drain could be pretty potent.

Rake and Bligestorm might actually make UL worth it.

With that MP cost I wouldn't be surprised if Orc Stance is a 5-10% counter.

wait is that what it is or ur guess? cause 15 seconds is pretty lame for a 10% and especially since its 4seconds of casting.

The breath spells make sense since we haven't seen any since Heat but SE has made almost everything since the 80 cap resist the *** out of breath damage so... they'll be worthless unless they change something.

Thunder breath = full HP -> DMG breath? Maybe.

Wind Breath obviously doesn't follow the usual form of breath spells. It's cheap and fast as hell to cast. I'm guessing it's made for those times when you want breath spells, but don't have the time to wait around for it to finish casting. A shot in the dark, but I think it will be HP/8. Not a lot of damage, but it's quick and cheap.

Thunder Breath on the other hand is your typical breath spell. Slightly shorter casting time than Heat Breath, and roughly 30 more MP. I'm guessing it will be in the range of HP/2 to HP/1. Thinking most likely 2HP/3.

I pretty much expected the spells for the most part to be a bit watered down. From the looks of the spells some right off the bat have potential while others need actual testing to see if they can be of any used. i might not be the only one who been thinking this but they may have to come up with some kind of charge system for blu's unbridled learning spells as they are starting to pile up and one spell every 5 min doesn't seem effective,they might add in merits to fix the delay that's what I'm hoping for.

In closing i'll wait for it to be released on the test server to mess with them. my only gripe is and for some might be rather insignificant is that Single Solitary Fomor Spell Barbed Crescent...out all those spells the fomor's have they released this one. Not saying is a bad spell but there where better choices.

None of 'em are that cheap (points wise) either.

Barbed Crescent = 2 (Dual Wield)
Wind Breath = 2 (Fast Cast)
Vapor Spray = 3 (Max MP)
Amorphic Spikes = 4 (This + Charged Whisker + Evryone. Grude = Treasure Hunter)
Thunder Breath = 4 (Max HP)
O. Counterstance = 5 (Counter)
Quadrastrike = 5 (Skillchain Bonus)

2? I see 3... Vapor Spray, Thunder Breath and Wind Breath.

I'm really not seeing the point here... Honestly, if SE wanted to do breaths they should just get one of each elemental and make the formula for damage scale to level so we can pick elemental based on the mob and make them hit really freaking hard so they are worth the staggering mp cost and cast time. I literally think they would have to make them 2*hp to make me even consider using them much less actually getting my hp set out.

They could have at least given us a dark breath attack rather than a 3rd wind one.
