I wonder if they're going to be objective when it comes to judging.. If you can do both, how do you judge a sketch against a full 3D model..

I think a good design is a good design, they'll pick what they like.
What's more likely to not be subjective is whether the look of the design fits into the other content plans they already have, and how difficult the model will be to skin add to the game.
I already have a better Intuous and LOOOOL at Bamboos, I wish they'd do a contest for a Cintiq. /drool I may still enter if I find the time to research the game a bit.

Aye, I saw this in my inbox on DA and went "Ooooo, this could be fun!". Sadly I have no idea what to do for this, plus the rules seemed a little "eh?" last time I checked. Might have another look at this if I get a min I suppose...

I doubt it'd matter, 3D doesn't necessarily mean better or higher quality. As long as you can make it pretty and effectively show off a solid and appealing design, then I'm sure you have just as much chance as anyone, whether you do it in full 3D or MS paint.
Love this idea. It's a good PR idea and it's not the first time they've shown interest in fan-art.
