NIN WS/Katana Question!

Hihi,

I'm 57NIN and currently using:

1x Yoto +1
1x Hototogisu

I was thinking about using 2x Shinogi for the DEX+ for when I get Blade: Jin. I was told the DEX route is definitely the better one for Jin, I'm assuming it's because it doubles up as ACC+ for the WS itself.

I finally have some money "spare" (read: I have money I should prolly be spending on upgrading other jobs..) and want to get a half decent build set up for when I get my nin's best ws >.>

For Katana's, I was thinking about this type of progression:

2x Shinogi -> 2x Kabutowari or +1 -> 2x Korotiro +1 [Maybe] -> 1x Imanotsurugi + 1x Korotiro +1 -> 2x Fudo -> 1x Fudo + 1x Unsho -> 1x Unji + 1x Unsho [AND] 2x Mamushito +1 -> 1x Senjuinrikio + 1x Unji

Any suggestions on WS gear or Katanas?

Hm why do you want to trade 2x Fudo for Unsho/Unji? Fudo is way above in dps rating. According to a comment on the Fudo page here it has even been parsed and shown that fudo outdamages them.

I was always told they were the "better option", but that was way before I considered levelling NIN as a job and only used it for SJ.

fSTR is what calculates Blade: Jin damage, like any other melee weapon skill.. (Read up on Wikipedia, I haven't got the brains tonight to explain I'm afraid.)

Whilst Jin has STR and DEX modifiers, your priority should still be STR because it's the main calculation for weapon skill damage.

I can't commnent too well on those levels since it's been a long time, but priority for Jin on 75 goes: STR > DEX for damage. You need dependable accuracy too, but for damage output, STR is the way to go.

Edit: As for Katanas, Senjuinrikio with Perdu Blade offhand is the best combination outside of Relics.

My Jin build sides with more dex than str.
why? part of the reason is a lot of my ninja gear is from thief. the other reason is The only time Jin is actually worthwhile is if it critical hits. I could be going about it the wrong way but oh well, works fine for me. my WS build isn't outstanding anyways.
