Might be a sneak / invis spell. Need to figure out what Aisha and Soshi translate to.

The whole protection thing that's been mentioned a few makes me think stoneskin or phalanx-ish effect.

Aisha was Muhammad's latest wife... she was the mother of life or something.. could be some type of raise.

Realistically thinking, it's probably some type of nuke to match the rest of the NIN update stuff. I can't find any Correlation to the tool or spell name, though.

We have a Japanese American in our Linkshell and she's rather confused at the context SE is using this in.

Aisha roughly translates to 'lively.' Which may insinuate a Flash/Voke of some sort. Aisha also translated into car possibly of some sort I heard from someone else. This may be wrong, but if not, could be used in the context of movement speed.

Though, what threw her off was the Soshi. The tool used for the spell. She said it roughly translated to ancient scroll or book. I dunno, I'm pretty skeptical, too.

Can anyone provide another translation?

This and the mother of life thing, scrolls make me think of raise. No amount of common sense deems NIN with raise, though.

Edited to fix quotes =D

Somewhere in the forum someone likened it to Pax. Might want to try digging around for that.

Messing around with online translators bring up:

Aisha : favorite car / favorite corporation

Soshi : element or component / obstruction or inhibition / longstanding desire or goal / behavior / founder of sect

Haha, doesn't make much sense yeah. I'm very intrigued.

I can understand a cure of some sort. It would make sense since SE is making Nin more tank-friendly and Plds can already heal themselves.

I did an online look up of it, was given Aisha was car but Soshi was: obstruction, check, hindrance, prevention, element, data

My top guesses have already been posted. RR, Phalanx, Healing, or Move Speed.

It just makes sense that it would be reraise, possibly rr3 or 2 at the very least. Hell, ninjas barely see any playtime any more since pld/nin became the staple, so I just think that it would seem appealing for some people to play a job that lost little to no exp (unlikely)

哀車の術:壱 is what SE calls it, but what the auto-translater(Lolgoogle) came up with is

哀車 jutsu: 壱 (Or sad Car Jutsu: ???)

auto-translater also came up with 'In order to cast the spy tool "草子" is required.' '草子' being 'Grass Child' >.> lol

I'm pretty sure most of you are off.

NIN and SAM skills and equipment in FF11 tend to be unique words invented by putting various kanji together, proper names, or other obscure historical terms you won't find in a dictionary. Being distinctly JP jobs, they also rarely (if ever?) use mythological references from outside Japan.

If someone can find the JP client version of the spell I could tell you what it means in a heartbeat, but once the word has been romanized, it's nearly impossible to tell.

(Edit: it appears to be 哀車. The latter character does mean "car" but more generally refers to any kind of wheel or ring. For instance, Tachi: Kasha uses the same "sha" character to mean "wheel of flowers." The other character here means pity, woe, grief, sorrow, etc. Sounds like a debuff or offensive spell to me, but there's no way to really know. SE loves to be metaphorical sometimes.)

(Follow-up: the tool used is 草子、 which is a somewhat archaic term for any written work, usually something bound.)
