It may have just been dumb luck, but I got the max once on an Alexandrite from this item. After putting it through a calculator,

99x15 = 1,485,000 gil.

So yeah, if you're able to get a few of these, you can supply players with a good supply of alexandrites, while also ensuring a nice stable income of 15k a piece to those willing to purchase at that price consistently.
