For reference, what else can you get for your Imperial Standing?
ISNM 3k = 3000 IS for a chance at a Khroma Ore (~500k). Current drop rate expected on wiki is 19.5% (161/827). So your expected payout per run (since the rest of the drops are negligible in price) is the probability of winning a Khroma Ore multiplied by its value, or 97,500 gil per run.
Now each run costs 3000 IS, so that breaks down to 32.5 gil per IS (expected). Multiply by the IS cost of rank items (ex: perdu weapons) or imperial pieces to calculate their relative costs.
Example: 32.5 gil/IS * 100 IS = cost of imp. silver piece from NPC = 3250 gil! So you're best off buying all your coins from the AH and saving that IS to spam ISNMs as much as you can...
sell the coins, khroma ore isnt worth much anymore lol 10k on this server, being that it is in brown/golden chests in some abyssea zones, and do to the fact that few ppl still do besieged for the larger amounts of IS, there isnt many ppl out there still selling coins so their price is steadily climbing.
Yeah I'm not a fan of 19.5% for Kroma Ore. I do however like the 100 pts= 1800 x 99= 198k. Where as 3k for an ISM is 3k/100= 30 or 54,000 I could of made selling this. Price per is 1800 at time of post. Now hat 30 silver for 54k times the 5 chances i would have to go at it to get that ore (hopefully) would cost me 270,000. The ore's price tag currently sits at 510,000 take the cost to get it and you have this formula:
510,000-270,000= 240,000 profit. Thats if statistics work in your favor. Also if you win. Also if you have enough people to static. but in this day and age of this game those are hard means to come by which is why people resort to just selling for slightly more than half the profit than that route. Which is also why for the people who do go the other get a nice reward. If everyone did things the Ore way. Well that ore wold be 240,000 and silver pieces would cost twice as much. Something that would likely never happen
