These are great for any nin/drk on NMs you can blink tank. Earth Staff is essential if you get hit with physical damage often, but if you don't have enough emnity, the mob will never look your way.
Great for MNK tanking salvage bosses and a few other lowman things like Chary etc. Destroyers are obviously better in most situations, but these have a pretty useful niche.
I can't help but wonder -why- some people say this is 'the best' for end game pups. That's only the case if you're soloing. Frankly I avoid that, I can't stand it.
Wagh Baghnakhs for the win. +5 acc and +14 atk > +7 acc. With my easily obtainable acc gear and food choices, I can match acc with other DD in merit pt's. The Hades is too overpriced for the paltry benefit it adds over other choices of the level.
Even with the updated hand-to-hand ranking for pups, I still think they'll have a much harder time pulling hate like a monk does. Monk is still going to do alot more DD than the puppetmaster alone because of martial arts bonuses (at 75 a mnk has a 60 delay advantage over pup), and better DD gear available for mnks.
Now the advantage to a pup is that its hate is split between itself and its automaton, making hate alot less of an issue compared to other DD jobs. Now I think pup has more overall damage potential than mnk in a party situation, but because people aren't very bright and only look at the damage of the pup and not the automaton, pups will never get the reputation they deserve.
Btw, I'm a 75MNK and a 19PUP, only pup observations are that of party members.
Pretty badass for anyjob that can use em depending on the situation. To be honest...i prefer them over Destroyers. Great for MNK tanking/soloing, and the enmity will rack up some serious points if youre a frequent campaign battler like myself. Not to mention these look really pimp with the Cobra Unit gear...town gear FTW ^^
