The key to making Algol shine is a strong 6-hit build (7-hit not /SAM).

With the introduction of Rose Strap this is doable without losing the ACC from your body slot (vital on a lot of stuff you'd be using GS for), which makes it a lot more competitive.

I'd expect this to beat out Naglering if used properly, among other things the increased WS frequency from lower delay (and triple attack) will help it pull ahead over time.

No Algol does NOT have a strong 6-hit you still sacrifice alot to 6-hit this weapon even with Rose Strap. You need Rose Strap/Brutal/Rajas/White Tathlum for the ideal build for Algol, using this over Nag you lose 10 ACC, which is alot for a GS, its not an A+ weapon, even if you have gear like Aces helm you wont have Capped ACC using this DRK/SAM, Naglering is the stronger weapon because of its easy 6-hit and the Nice ACC that comes with it.

Algol will pull ahead of Naglering DRK/NIN though because they are both stuck at a 7-hit Build if you /NIN, the lower delay and tripple attack will then pull ahead of Naglering, but lets face it DRK/anythingbutsam is emo, and if your meriting real DRKs use Scythe. GS pulls head of Scythe for HNM because of its attk bonus, and when it comes to HNM Naglering is King.
