Goriru, if Carbuncle costs 3 mp/tick without gloves, and 1 mp/tick, it rounds *down* (as 1.5 rounded up would be 2) ;)
So it definitely rounds *down*.

This gloves are the best thing for SMN at all level for carbunle it is droped of a NM in Temple of Uggalepih

Collecting The Offering!
First of all you need to go in temple and head north and out that exit and in the other exit at K-8 there is 4 rooms and in 1 of them rooms is a ??? which will gave you the item to spawn the NM takes 2 hours for item to respawn

Getting Till NM!
Instead of going north go south and follow that path till you can go north again and exit out here and back in the other door. Head down to I-10 and defeat the Temple Guardian enter in the door and far east of this room is some stairs go up them and thought another door the NM is on H-6 might need inv to get thought. Just head up north till you come into a big room with 4 or 5 tonberrys

NM Fight!
Now u might wanna clear out the room and then buff up and heal up after all that is do

If you substitute Evoker's Pigaches +1, Royale Redingote with -2 perp/Penance Robe, HQ Light Staff/Fay Crozier with -3 perp/Bahamut Staff and Nashira Gages, you can obtain free Carbuncle at level 75. I'll probably retire my Carbuncle Mitts when I get my Nashira Gages.

Aara is right it is rounded down so after 27 it's free with smn as your primary job
