The drop rate on Elder Goobbue\'s is a bit higher in my experience but they are also harder to kill. People think Zitah mobs have a higher drop rate but most of them have not spent hours killing the Elder\'s as they would Zitah\'s. Usually only BST farm them but lately I have been seeing RMT parties there farming too. I usually avg. 2-3 stacks in an hour on Elder Goobbues as well as other lumber which NPC sells for about 7k each -- not to mention merits while farming.
Yeah, Elders have an insane drop rate. I usually average a few more an hour than the below poster, but it's a hell of a lot faster than my experiences in Zi'tah.
Sure, I could make a million or more a day farming if spent 12 hours a day or more on the game like the RMTs do. We legitimate players that have jobs and bills to pay can't live on the game like RMTs nor do I think we'd want to. SE has taken steps to eliminate the gil sellers, they should also focus on banning gil buyers who are complicit and share in disrupting the economic balance that should exist in the game.
If you average a few stacks /hour soloing Elders, I sure would like to know your secret. I farm these on Thf/Bst, which gets a higher drop rate than Bst,,and I sure will get nowhere near the amount of drops that you claim.

@ Stanflames post. I think your totally wrong. Cuttings lead to gardening Element Ores, which turn into staffs which sell well. Also HQ staffs are ALOT, and RMT have alot of crafting power behind them, meaning they can HQ the staffs and make lots of money. Yes they do sell cuttings, but they dont sell them all. You can see how long they are there, and you dont get AH flooded with them. This is why RMT used to hang around at Serket Roc and Sim all the time. Roc and Sim = DIngot = Hauby and Serket = VClaw = Scorp Harness. Both major items nearly everyone buys for the jobs that can wear them.
I farm cuttings off of the Elder's as Thf with TH4 with my lvl 70 NPC for hours on end at times. And the drop rate is better on them than the goobbues out in Zitah but I think I barely make a stack an hour at times(slow kills). So honestly, I don't know how Bekisa can make 2-3 stacks with only thf sub(since he doesn't have Thf main), unless he/she goes with a Thf friend or two(faster kills) and holds all the loot til the end, as well as having no other farming competition.
Drop rate on gobbues in zi'tah seem pretty decent and i would prefer to stay there but you will expect alot of competition expect the prices on this to be Up and DOWN and you better get used to it

I have noticed if you furnish your Mog House with lightning element, Your Moggle will prompt to feed a crystal to your plant 1Day earlier then normal through out the cycle from Tree Cutting >>>Tree Sapling, Making it possible to harvest 1 to 2 days earlier. Has anyone had any similar results?
