This is definately not an 'ultimate' piece for mages, with better and easy to obtain equipment available for whm/smn/blm/rdm/pup. A very nice piece for BLU,SCH & BRD though, the major let down of the cloak is that it can't be worn with a head piece which is why it isnt that great.
Honestly, I think this is one of the better pieces for Scholar due to Scholars sublimation effect. Can't really speak on the effect/negatives of other jobs.
Great piece for PUP/sch.
-MND, INT and CHR bonus helps lower Water, Ice and Light overload threshold, allowing the PUP to spam more maneuvers.
-Pup/sch's available head piece at high levels are pantin taj, Errant hat and cobra unit cloche. So it's no love lost in abandoning those headpiece for the buffs the cloak gives.
-Sticking Sleep is priority number one for PUP. The extra magic accuracy do not hurt.
-Max MP for the PUP is only 300mp tops with merits. Using spells like Drain and Sleep is nothing for the auto-refresh from Sanction to handle. The extra mp per tick would make soloing a breeze.
-Lastly, regen helps mitigate the effects under Sublimation.
the uses for pup isn't pointless at all the applications of pup/sch have been proven more effective then any support job for puppetmaster in endgame situations and especially soloing of course it's probably best on BLU SCH and BRD but this is the best magic acc piece for pup/sch for soloing if you want that sleep to stick on VT + mobs. Timing sleep with the puppets fully buffed bukes is very important and puppetmaste can effectivly 4 shot any VT-IT with this setup. So yes i'd give this item to SCH BLU BRD 1st in that order but then i'd give it to the PUP since the other jobs can wear zenith and other better pieces making this one not as sexy for the other jobs.
But saying this is bad for pup is ignorance that shows once again that 90% of the players on this game have no clue what a puppetmaster can do. There is nothing lol about 4000+dmg solo on a skillchain and self magic burst a tier IV nuke.....
I think its one of the best pieces for pup/sch in combi with blm puppet for nuke/sleep technique.
I can't speak for other jobs but I'm sure there are better options to pick.
Great piece for your idle set, if you're really into getting the best out of every situation.
As a WHM, you can idle in this, Orochi Nodowa, Marduk Hands, Goliard Trews, Umbra Cape and Terra's Staff for 4 HP/tick regen and 29% Physical damage reduction.
Should ensure you almost never need to cure yourself if you take a stray hit.
