NQ. For my blm I calculated out that for T4 1 MAB is about 1.66. For AM2 it was like 2.3. So 4int is much better

Well on a cost analysis I'd go with INT+4 Igqira. This being as I'm working on my 9th job (Pld) and I try to keep all my jobs well if not best geared.

You should also see fewer resists and slightly more damage with +4 Int compared to +1 Elemental Skill, +1 Matk.

Hell, I would go with a 3...

Maybe cause I got a 3, but still... hehe.

Also, as the post above says, the math points toward 3 and up.

eh. i choose not to waste too much gil/time with the augments. after throwing away 3 NQ's i just bought an HQ. but I'm a taru so I'm not too worried about damage or resists. maybe if i get bored @ turtle i might augment more. plus my merits and so on compensate for my laziness.

definitely trying on a continuous basis. Looking at about a 15k loss per bad augment with NPC'ing, that's a helluva lotta chances to augment before you'd be better off buying a HQ.

Best I've gotten is VIT+5......that was a damn tease. All the rest the variety of "resist blind+2" or "resist-stun"....still trying.

Actually NQ +3int > HQ. So 4 is quite a bit better

In fact sometimes NQ +2 int is >HQ. Specifically on T4 spells when you already have lots of MAB.

Exactly right. Id like to know where the poster above you got their info. Even 2int + nq = better than hq in my opinion, 2int in mag resistance im quite sure would make up the missing ele skill. and an item with int and mab is usually than one with the other even if we assume 2int = 1 mab. meaning 6mab + 2int, in some cases is better than 7mab.

I'm curious to know where and how ppl are augmenting their Igqira's to be getting +4int or +3int? A specific method(like fov)? Elemental day, time of day factor in? Or is it just blind luck? I've attempted to augment it 3 times so far and failed hard everytime (+4 Agi last attempt). Would appreciate the insight.

Luck.

I've done over 60 and only 2 had int on them. 1 was +2 and 1 was +3.

I've looked for patterns and tried to force things. I've gone so far as to spawn kill and open the box at the same moon phase, day of the week and exact time of day several times in a row and got rather varied results. All killed solo on same job and method

If there are patterns they are either super duper complicated or something stupid like direction you face while opening corresponding to day or some ***or has to be same time of year lol

does the elemental day factor in at all? If there was any rhyme or reason you'd think Ice days would increase the odds?

Like I said. I did everything the same including day and it still had wildly different results

I agree with Devdas.
As much as we'd all like to think we can exert some type of control over randomly-generated results in FFXI ... the bottom line is a lot of FFXI stuff is just straight up randomly-generated.

I have a Ig with +5 int on it. Like a -1 Morri robe ^^.
Augmented in VoS!!! GL totally worth it when it goes for 45k on Sylph.
