Broken Game Audio

I'm having an issue with the games audio recently. I just re-formatted my system and re-installed FFXI. Since then the audio in FFXI will not play. I get the background music in POL and while choosing my character but after that all the audio just goes dead. Was wondering if anyone knew what it was.

and before someone asks
YES, Game audio is turned all the way up
YES, Speakers are on, un-muted, and turned up
and YES, in FFXI config "enable sound" is checked on

Note: All other audio on my PC is working fine

Try downloading Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Worked for me after I reformatted my computer and put Windows 7 on it.

That happened to me, it wasnt working for a good 6 months and i love the music. what i did was go into FFXI config and click the audio (it was already on but wasnt working) and clicked it on, off, then back on. if using win then do it on there too. i restarted my computer and sure enough it fixed it, hopefully this helps.
