Well of course they're gonna fix the issue now that he went public with it.
It only seems the cheap/poorly designed routers that have this flaw.
Also I could care less if someone knows where I live, people are too paranoid. The people I should be worried about most, probably already know where I live, or have other means of finding me.
I think Kamkar's point was to remind people how easy it really is, and not to be complacent.

People tend to think that all hackers are horrible criminals just trying to steal peoples' information. Kamkar seems to be leaning towards the the more noble philosophy of hacker ethic. He wouldn't have gone public if he was simply being a tool.
