Player Online Issue |

player online issue
I log on to player online and start up the game as normal, as soon as i get on (30 secs) I get a notice. Saying A problem has caused this program to shut down, windows is finding a salutation. It's been a hour and relogs and restarts of my computer. Is it player online itself or my computer? How do I fix the issue?

Are you using windower?
If you are, usually thats the case of the crash. I have also experienced this as well when a windower plug that is auto-loaded will crash your PoL. (usually distance or recast is the monster at hand) If you dont use windower, I would suggest maybe running a quick file check of both FFXI and PoL via the PoL management. Before you log in. Hope that helps! I don't you use windower, and I checked the files when I click on player online, said it found no errors.

Sorry, "patch" .... "alternate download"...... it needs a fix anyways. http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/download/media/vista01.html?pageID=media Theres the official download. I've always had to have it since I've had vista :O Try it out! Hope it'll work! Ragnarok.Spicer said: yes it is, never had a problem with it till now. Been about 1 year and some months. The only thing I can recommend is a reinstall. I'm not sure what could be causing the problem for you. I've never had a problem on Vista. yeah looks like ill have to v.v and the patch didn't do anything :o

Did you try to just re-install the PoL with the new one before re-installing the WHOLE game? Just try the new PoL for vista users. It might be your issue.
ya im gonna reinstall it. not the whole game yet

I have no idea then ; ; I would just say reinstall the whole game (right...) and hope for the best... if that STILL doesnt resolve your issue, you might want to contact a GM or something through the PoL website ; ; bah I have the worst luck ever, might have to do that.
didn't work , the only thing it did do was blow up the playeronline to 100x it's size, and my anti virus isn't blocking the program, it only happens when I'm on the game itself, when I'm logged on and the /lsmes start to appear that's when the message comes up.
I have everything on my computer scanned and updated, so I dont know what could be causing it.
I'm sorry its bugging me and I have to say it. Its "play" online, not "player" online.
I doubt this will have any effect, but you never know.
Make sure your Playonline folder, and all the folders beneath it are set to low security settings. In order to do this you have to go to: C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\ (only if you're x64) Right Click > Properties > Security > Edit... > Add... (do this on the PlayOnline Folder) You should be at a "Select Users or Groups" window. In the text box type: "Everyone" Click OK. Click Everyone in the "Group or User names:" List. Check the "Allow" Radio box beside Full control in the "Permissions for Everyone" list. |
