So, its ok to call conservatives "idiots" but not liberals?

In my honest opinion, every single politician is an idiot. They are only there for re-election. Nobody gives a ***about the betterment of society. They are all corrupt and distorted in their opinions.

The problem is, however, that when a party has too much power, like this administration does at the moment, things get run the way the current system wishes it to, which, unfortunally, means that we are becomming more socialist and less capitalist. This will continue until conservatives come to power, then it will sway more capitalistic than socialistic, which people will just start bitching about it because it seems "unfair" to grow as a nation.

Personally, I hate how this system is run (not conservative/liberal alone, but how they both "work" together) and wish for a law to pass saying "Executive and Legislative powers cannot be from the same party" which will never get enacted.

Let's draw a comparison to FFXI. How do most linkshells operate? Well, you have a leader who makes the decisions based on what they think are (ideally) best for the shell. Sometimes, you have leaders making decisions best for them. Anyways, in, say, a dynamis linkshell, you're rewarded points for showing up and participating. You use these points to get rewards from the shell.

Clearly we can see that work gives reward. Most systems I've seen are like this, and this is because they work. I would imagine people would complain if the linkshells were run in a manner where the amount of work you put in had very little bearing on your reward. Sure, it would be great if I could idle in Whitegate and have someone hand me a Red Mage Relic hat. That's clearly ridiculous. Why should someone receive reward for no work?

For anyone who believes socialism is a good system, please tell me if you'd really be okay with working to see others reap benefits without working for themselves. I'm all for charity for those who can't help themselves, but I shouldn't be forced to help those who want to exploit charity. It should be my choice whether I want to help those less fortunate than I, and it certainly shouldn't be dictated by the government.

Hoo boy, bring out that "no life" card. I draw a comparison to FFXI because, surprise, this is a FFXI website, which means playing FFXI is something we all have in common.

He only played that "no-life" card because he has no counterargument.

Do what works, let the ideas that don't work die.

Like Communism. Only when people see how much better the rest of the world is (unfortunally, they don't even get that privilage) will they want to emulate it.

What do you mean, Obama doesn't have a lot to work with? If I recall from history class, part of what Roosevelt did is create tons of jobs for the unemployed. Looks like Obama has tons of unemployed to work with here...

What Roosevelt had was a lot of people building and developing. All that land is basically built up now, and with the housing industry plummeting, it would be kind of stupid to keep building.
You can't create jobs out of your ***.

There were a lot of jobs created back then centered around working with the environment. Hey, what a coincidence, we've got some environmental problems we can fix! And we've got tons of unemployed people! But you're right, that's nothing to work with at all...

We are in fact very close to socialism. If this healthcare reform bill passes the government will be in control of 30something percent of industry. That's 30something% more socialism than "nowhere near socialism".

And how, oh pray tell, do you suggest even starting to fix the environmental problems nowadays. You have to know how to fix the problem before employing people. Not to mention most of the unemployed people probably don't even have a clue about earth sciences, or biology.

Well, I can see you math skills are superior. 1 2 3 This makes 4.

This is an extension of the 3rd.. Technically it would be the 3rd and a half.

You are right if you are talking about threads.
This is the 4th Thread, not the 4th topic, silly :)

who gives a ***?

put this this someplace where it belongs, around people who might actually care.

Maybe it's just me, but one of the reasons I immerse myself in FFXI is to avoid hearing about all this ***. I enjoy coming to this site to read about FFXI-related information. I do not enjoy loading up this site and seeing all the same *** I have to hear about everywhere else.

Seriously, take it somewhere else, Bulleta. I don't even understand why there was a forum made for topics of this nature on this site, since it's obviously not FFXI related.

If you want to talk about ***like this, go right ahead. But in my opinion the moderation team should prevent the idiocy of these topics from showing up on the front page.

Anyone get the feeling that OP tried posting her derivative rants on actual political forums, had her arguments ripped to shreds by people who actually gave a ***, and decided to post on ffxi forums of all places in search of easier targets?

I am going to consider it as spamming if you continue to just create political threads for the hell of it. I thought 2 was enough but 4 in one day is going overboard.

Please limit it and continue on the discussion AND participate, you have not even participated in the discussions.
