This happens in NA also not just UK

Phoenix.Yavaan said: » This happens in NA also not just UK It is likely that North Korea is involved with the activity in the UK. However, since the problem location is neither in your ISP nor SE's control, it's not one that you can readily complain about. I know everyone is looking for a target to blame, but realistically it is not their fault. As others have posted, using a VPN closer to japan can change your route such that it doesn't pass through the UK. Even if it still passes through that node, you'll be less likely to d/c (the connection between FFXI servers and your VPN won't be severed, and most VPNs are much more fault tolerant than FFXI is so they can recover when the connection between you and your VPN is severed). To further elaborate, here is a map of the current undersea cabling: You may not take the shortest route at all times, cables have different owners, partnerships, limitations. If a cable isn't performing well or is particularly bogged down, you might even take a drastically longer route than expected. However, you can see how many of the trans-atlantic cables pass through the UK. A critical point there being attacked will cause speed and connectivity problems for an immense amount of traffic. What tracert command should I be using to test while I am red dotting? I tried tracert http://www.playonline.com but it came out normal.

Playonline.com is probably just a mirror hosted by your ISP. If you want to see your own route, pull up resource monitor and look at your open connections:
In this case, I have a LAN connection to 192.168.1.100. That doesn't matter. The IPs that matter are 124.150.152.148 and 202.67.54.122. Yours may not be identical, SE probably has many exit IPs. You would run a tracert on those IPs if you want to see your route. It's not going to help fix anything though, the only solutions are to use a vpn or to wait. Offline

You can also trace and ping on most routers page.
netstat -n -p tcp -b | more in cmd to see connections. Even though SE and your ISP's cannot do anything on their own ends to fix the UK hop problem, they might be able to get in contact with the company that hosts this one.
If the JP VPN gives you even more trouble, try another one. If you're using wtfast there are several options to choose from. Just make sure you use any server that is located in the east. That alone should fix the problem. I didn't dc once using wtfast yesterday, while my laptop without wtfast running my 2nd account got kicked. will play again when thi sis fixed.... still R0ing and crashing.
*** this thing not an r0ing problem in game but while installing a few months worth of updates the connection stopped twice after 45mins of checking files and downloading. Third time it finally finished, i tried to find a site that keeps patch files incase it was going to be a constant issue but tehkrizz seems to have stopped back in 2016.
update: only dc’s me when I decide I want to do something. afk overnight and all day in mhaura = no problem. new dynamis for an hour and a half = R0>reconnect>R0 x3 - full dc x2 ... I love new content

I also wanted to give a update, Its been almost 48hours since I started using the Japan VPN using EasyHide-VPN. Compared to the prev. 48hours where I dc'd nearly 40x and r0'd 100s of times this was very different. I sometimes find there to be high spikes getting r5000 sometimes then a quick r0 then np (within about 2 sec) not a big deal @ all.. and only 1 DC since then. So I will continue to use Japan VPN as workaround until the "airways" are clear again. The hoops we jump throu just to get this game to work.. amazes even myself..

agreed. Continued to be super bad. I grabbed some IP blocks since it seems to be either an ISP issue or a common peering issue with a certain provider.
So far I'm seeing the following ranges: I use charter main, but going to route these through ATT (alternative isp i have) to see if any better: 202.67.48.0/20 202.67.63.0/24 124.150.152.0/21 Anyone know other ip subnets SE owns ? whitemage said: » went overnight without a disconnect night before last but then later it started again :( Same, I was hoping it was over/fixed, but then I R0'd again today.. same time every day, 10:02am EST pol error 2059. Mine is fixed! No more R0 and dc's here because Saevel is awesome and he fixed my stuff <3
Not sure if anyone has experience with using Mudfish for FFXI, but I imagine that's the cheapest route if you want a temporary VPN. You pay for your traffic used and can limit it to a single game, but the rate is really low (for FFXIV, I paid like $5 a month at most if I almost never turned the game off), and FFXI runs on 56k, so..

Still bad today... we shouldn't have to pay more money to play FFXI. Today a PW pop was almost lost due to connection problems. >< pretty much unplayable for me today, pretty sick of this to the point where I feel like I deserve a refund for this month...
