Interesting read about The Last Jedi

Spoiler: It may change your perception of the story arc.

I'm going to resist the temptation to click on something I probably shouldn't.

It's basically stating that The Last Jedi would make the original trilogy (Eps 4-6) obsolete and points out the new trilogy (Eps 7-9) is/will be a copy/paste version of the original trilogy.

I generally post the articles themselves, but I didn't want to try to change anyone's perceptions of this series (the author made some pretty obvious analogies between Ep 4 and 7).

You forgot Kylo Ren in the whole scenario.

Edit: Besides, we all know that Rey is the daughter of Solo and Organa....or Organa-Solo if you will (EU nerds unite! Jacen & Jaina forever!)
I'll be suprised if the two of them don't turn out to be reincarnations of the Son and Daughter personally... If I remember right the Clone Wars tv show was kept as canon, so The Ones survived Disney's character purge.

It was kept as canon because Disney produced it (if memory serves).

Not because of it's "epic" storyline, but because it had a couple of mouse ears attached to it.

It is Canon and quite enjoyable to watch for the non Anakin Characters. Obi Wan was fun to watch, as well as every season had R2D2 episodes that were freaking enjoyable.

Not all of it was epic or awesome.

I don't think they did produced it. I know it may have aired on Disney XD later on in its life but I'm pretty sure it was Cartoon Network thing far before that and Disney actually stopped production of the show shortly after their acquisition of the franchise so that they could focus on Rebels.

I could be talking out of my *** though.

We were both wrong...ish

While Disney wasn't the actual producer (Lucas was, apparently), they were the distributor, which still is my point.

It started 4 years before Disney bought star wars.

So the trailer pretty much confirms that Luke no longer sees the light and dark sides of the force as good and evil. This is "barrance" that was prophesied.

Maybe so. From watching the trailer several times now listening to what little dialogue there is and now seeing the throw-back poster, I personally think Rey might be trained in a new unconventional way.

She'll probably be like Selene from the Underworld franchise. Selene had both Vampire and Lycan abilities, and Rey I think will be trained to "balance" between the light and dark side.

I don't think any character in the official Canon has been able to juggle both before successfully without succumbing to one or the other - although I believe there's a non-Canon Jedi that had done so successfully (I think his lightsaber was white?)

Anyway, that's enough nerd talk for one post.

Being that both the Jedi and the Sith are Polar Opposites of the force (Think Paladin vs Dark knight) The fan fiction and even official information out in the net says "Grey" is the way to be a balance of both light and dark sides of the force and some of the old history shows that the original teaching were more in line with "Grey" so the title itself may simply mean that from this point forward there must be a balance between both Light and Dark sides to keep the Galaxy in balance. I'll look for the postings but it made some interesting reading and listening to some of these youtube videos out there about this whole topic.

Also ray is clone is a theory I want to see if this holds water cuz it would be funny

And why even use labels like Jedi and Sith to define individuals, they should be free to express themselves without the galaxies judgment or being forced to convert to an ancient archaic creationist religion that seeks to impose it's own views and beliefs on individuals. Stop forcism, stop the fascist oppression of the Jedi!

Calling it now: Episode VIII will have more political messaging than Episode III.

Also, Snoke is going to have a toupee and somehow become more Oompa-Loompa coloring.

Looks like Kylo Ren is getting his own personal BB droid. This is just speculation but I personally think he is going to have the droid going on personal, non-First Order business where Hux and Snoke can't see.

To be fair I don't think the movies are terrible...they just aren't as good as the original.
