add a profile views to your page, so everyone can see how many times people are looking at your profile. This is a popularity contest people!! J/K

That's actually what the "Most Viewed" rankings on the front page do already. =) We clear the records once a day so that those with a "head start" won't get a lead that's impossible to overcome. (That would just be boring for everyone.)

It also records unique visits from individual users. One "vote" per day. If it was just "click"-based, people could sit there and spam their own profile pages to move up in the ranks.

So the more people that click on your profile in any given day, the higher you are on Most Viewed?

Yeah, the more registered people click on your profile or search for you in a day, the higher you are on Most Viewed. It resets every midnight.

Each user in the system only gets one "click vote" for each other user per day. Meaning you can give a vote to as many different people as you want in a day, but repeatedly clicking the same names will not move them any higher because you've already clicked them once today. Meaning you can't just sit there hitting Refresh and play the system.

And yes, same with items.
