Relic Weapons
Was just curious to see opinions on what people thought about which Relic Weapon was most worth the time/money put into acquiring it? What about the worst? I know everything is situational and dependent upon what job(s) you have leveled, but for the sake of argument, let's assume that you could use w/e Relic you wanted.
The BRD one has by far the most uses, but most people just laugh at it.
Aegis and horn are the only really useful ones the rest are e-peen.

For an HNM shell, G-horn is broken. For melee, Amanomurakumo seems to outshine the rest (Sorry you Apoc. DRK's, but it's just not that impressive to me).
The worst however... I'd have to say Claustrum. That is the biggest waste of gil I've ever seen put into a relic. The worst for an actual melee job though, I'm going to hand off to Guttler. I've seen one stage 4 axe the entire time I've been playing. No stage 5's. Wonder why that is?

I've seen one Claustrum ever in game. It was back not long after I started playing, I was running through Giddeus seen this Taru with it equipped. Checked him, his comment read "Claustrum: Biggest waste of several hundred million gil..." or something to that effect. I still think that's one of the funniest things I've ever seen in game.
Aegis seems like the most useful, since it enhances tanking by a huge amount, and the Brd horn for some good buffs.
They need to make a relic Goblin Coif asap

From what I've seen in parses, Spharai are only a tiny bit better than Destroyers.
But they're not lol right?
I haven't had the chance to test them, but monks who have them seem to be happy with them. Although the monks with Destroyers don't see the point in spending 100M+ on a weapon that's marginally better.
I've heard pretty much the same thing from Monks that Destroyers are just as good and Spahari aren't really worth the time/effort unless you just have a hard on for Monk.
So they're more of a luxury item and just there to beat the game =)

Back on topic, though. I think the only relics worth getting are the horn and Aegis.

Pretty much. It's not anything like say the Aegis for example where there's no real equivalent to it. Destroyers might be just slightly inferior, but for the time/effort put into getting the Relic Knucks, I've run across a lot of ppl that have said it's just not worth it.

Excalibur's proc is amazing imo. I've seen some really sick videos of the GS too

spoken like someone who shall never be able to afford one before ffxi dies.
every weapon has its purpose (excluding staff) tho they are "expensive" alot of them can change a jobs playstyle and or allow them to do things they previously could not.
its all about how the user plays the game in the end. the gil is never the draw back for a dedicated player, gil over time ftw eh?
its the STRESS of the weapon thats the true issue.
