Clearly the chicken was a criminal Hindu in a past life and is fighting back against karma.

Now, this rooster has me worried!

Almost 6000 views on this thread, I hope that some were able to find its original point and the rest to be useful

Are you trying to say we weren't useful? Well, I'll be putting in an official complaint with the Vatican about this. When I'm done you'll be head priest in Siberia.
Man, that's just showing religious insensitivity. The pope isn't his speaker-for-god; he's a Christian, not a Catholic.

Dunno what you're talking about, I'll be praying to Hitchens about my grave error before offering up a few chickens to Darwin. I even have this neat lil shrine to Ayn Rand if you guys wanna see.

Praise Evolution. Praise Darwin. Death to religion!
Long live the rooster!

Rooster clearly reincarnated Stalin.

Have you ever looked deep into the eyes of a chicken and wondered if 'Jurassic Park' would have been a better movie if the velociraptors were all depicted as giant chickens?

Why wasn't Stephen Spielberg going for accuracy?

To think chickens are distantly related to one of the most recognizable fearsome creatures in all history.

Mull over that next box of KFC!

Just think, if evolution had panned out differently, super-intelligent raptors might be discussing Raptor Jesus (Praise be unto Him) over a box of KFA, Kentucky Fried Ape.

Agnosticism For the win. lol

At least you admit you aren't sure. Some people can't be questioned by their "non belief".
agnosticism has nothing to do with belief or lack thereof, it has to do with admitting that you don't know.

It is not lack of belief. It is belief that there is no God.
wrong!

When in doubt, check the dictionary.

atheism [ey-thee-iz-uhm]
noun
1. the doctrine or belief that there is no God.
2. disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
Origin:
1580–90; < Greek áthe(os) godless + -ism

The dictionary isn't the say-so on all words, it's a guide of what popular uses of words are, the word's origins are that of "a- theism" the prefix "a" meaning without. Therefor the only logical deduction is that it means the lack of the belief in a god/gods.

when speaking of languages, one realizes the dictionaries aren't complete.

fonewear said: »
Anything that can't be proven is a belief. Not sure why that is hard to understand.
um, reality isn't dependent upon belief, real or not, whether you know or not, it has nothing to do with what a belief is, it's a separate concept.

Odin.Jassik said: »

A hilariously transparent word game that changes nothing about the meaning of the words.

One could just as easily word it:
1. Not believing there is no god
2. Not believing there is a god

The difference is, as it's used today, Atheism is the lack of religious and deistic opinion. There are also Anti-theist, those would be more what you're talking about, people who strongly believe there is no god.

Also, using the exact same argument endlessly after having been proven wrong over and over by dozens of people using a variety of resources, you're clearly just trying to get a reaction. I'm pretty sure that's against the forum rules.
you know what, this basically sums it up...

This all started because jet derailed with saying "fedora atheists dont exist because im going to try to invent a definition paradox".

I even posted a link where Richard Dawkins, the neckbeard jesus, comments on the subject. If you're upset that this derailed for 2 pages, blame the guy who tried to smoke and mirrors by disagreeing with a widely accepted term.

Jet LACKS BELIEF IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, THEREFORE HE IS OUTSIDE OF THE REALM OF ITS POWER. He doesn't refuse to live by the law of english. He just pretends it's not there. It's not a decision. We don't know english from birth so it's not like he's "deciding" to not know what hes talking about.
harassment is also against the forum rules.

Not to mention that you claim "the English language herp derp" when you don't know what the *** you're talking about.

As for widely accepted: most people think "alot" is a word, popular sure doesn't mean right.

Raptor Jesus is the internet done right.

I was intrigued.

Somehow I missed Raptor Jesus /failatinternet

Quote:
God had intentionally created Raptor Jesus to preach to the dinosaur people and show them the light. However, his early teachings did not go over well with the dinosauric people and so God’s Secretary of Divine Intervention, Triceratops Goldbaum, granted him the ability to perform miracles. He went on to roam the Earth from 90,000,000-65,000,000 B.H.C (Before Human Christ).

They are the only two choices Jet. It's not complicated. Either you believe God is real or you believe God is not real.

Your issue, as always, stems from your huge personality flaw in that you BELIEVE you are smarter than you really are. Time and time again you display it. You like to BELIEVE that you are incapable of BELIEF because you're somehow just too damn smart. Look around at your life. Would the smartest person live the way you do?
It is more complicated than that, because there's more than two choices.

I am smarter than you apparently perceive as I can actually tell that the issue isn't just black and white.

To me the correct choice is to admit you aren't sure. But some people are too proud to do that.

I mean at least if you say you can't prove or disprove you are being honest.

Plus you don't have to be a *** about believing or lack of belief.
You're mixing up knowing and believing, the two are separate concepts.

Remember all those Jesus allegories in Man of Steel last summer?

Somehow I don't recall Jesus snapping anyones neck. Must have glossed over those passages.
