Assuming you are using your naked 90MNK (modest amount of gil), how would you start to gear it? My MNK is not 90, and it is also not naked. I'm just wondering what (and in what order) I should be looking to obtain in order to start low-manning in Abyssea.
Pretty sure my first order of business is a Brown Belt (which I can use another job to get). Next, I need to find the best easily obtainable weapon. Should I do a couple of KS30 runs for Destroyers? Also, what other gear should I use to start out with and, using that, what should I upgrade it to?
Problem:
It's hard to do stuff on DRK.
I'm leveling MNK to do stuff.

You don't need a black belt to start low-manning in abyssea lol... It's very easy to cap haste with or without it. The only benefits you receive are subtle blow and -5% pdt. Those are nice benefits to have, but far from necessary, especially when you're CS tanking the majority of NMs. Any AH gear mnk can tank in abyssea, don't worry about higher end gear unless you plan on making mnk your main job. I would recommend doing magian trial for weapon though, but even that is not really necessary. I've seen mnks tanking with afflictors all the time. Basically, it's really hard to screw this job up.

Only Trial weapons worth it in Abby is WoE/Empyrean, Taipan Fangs suck in Abby.
Also, while I agree you should focus on Black Belt, it's easier said than done. Literally no LS camps it on my server, and hasn't in almost a year, so not only is ToD difficult, but I have no way of buying them.
Black Belt should be your ultimate goal, but focus on a combination that can cap your gear haste in the meantime.

This is my TP gear on MNK, the weapon is absolute piss compared to Indrik's H2H, but I haven't used my MNK much lately.
It's not the best, but it can give a good idea of a way to cap haste without Black Belt.

No, not destroyers, they're horrible and you have to break them. Was only using them as comparison to lolafflictors.
Heafon/Fruor should be the lowest thing to aim for. Taurine, the NM isn't too bad, but can be a handful for lesser experienced groups.

My mnks only 19 so if for some reason I found myself on naked Mnk..id prolly just job change.
id go get RR first though technically its not a piece of gear it still boosts damage more than any piece of gear you could wear.
