Skystrider worth the cash? At least until Thalossocrat?

The people around me that have used it are pleased with it's performance.

I don't ever think I will be able to get earring, but when looking around at the other polearms 67-74 all seem to fall in comparison. Just wanted a confirmation that spending 700k on my server isn't a total waste.

Meh, from what it seems blowing my load on a Skystrider might not be the best idea. I still lack Spike Finger gauntlets. Using Smart Grenade rather than Tiphia (don't own). Maybe should save that cash for other gears?

Guys using Sky+Earring in my LS are really pleased with it. But I guess Sky only won't be enough :x

Thalassocrat is relatively cheap and is for the most part a staple and solid level 75 polearm for DRG. I would focus on upgrading armor and accessories prior to getting the Skystrider, especially since it works best with the Supremacy Earring.

If you often solo on DRG, then i wouldn't use Tiphia Stinger, since it has HP- :<. Skystrider is best until Thalassocrat, and spike finger gauntlets can be replaced by Tarasque(sp?) Mitts (+1), which I believe are cheaper. Also, if you are a solo DRG, then you may want to buy a Saurian Helm before Skystrider, even though its 73, its a major help by raising your wyverns Healing Breath by 100+.

All in all, I use a Skystriders, even without the earring, and I love it lol. I say its you're preference though~

Ya I'm aware that it's cheaper. But their is about 130k+ xp that you don't really have access to a better weapon. Skystrider = 69, thal = 75. Thats alot of xp to use something sub par. But the pricetag is kinda high. Even for a weapon with its DPS.

If you don't mind taking it slow do essentially what i'm doing: Save up and farm as I exp slowly til I can afford the piece I truly want so I'm able to ding into it and hopefully still have some cash in my pocket after I hit that level. Except in my case it's a Blau Dolch ^^

It doesn't matter that Thal is cheaper than Skystrider, the question was is it worth it until Thal. I am using Skystrider on my DRG and have been since 69 and I am loving it. The damage is great, the TP bonus is awesome, and on my server it seems to sell within a day of being placed on the market. I plan on using it until I hit 75 when I will sell it back and use Thal.
There are very few expensive items for DRG - the expensive really isn't even expensive - so springing the little extra for this isn't bad. And you can always sell it back if you don't like it.

i love mine, sans earring. 'crat is the better choice unless you use barone gear- then the tp bonus becomes substantial and strategic. get the earring, you are winner of all

But just so all DRG's know.
All the extra TP gained from Sky/earing + and 2 barone pieces does not total another full swing, so the extra TP generated is useless.
If you rely on your TP from jump to give you some sort of 6hit build then your Overall performance will lack.

yeah drgs shouldn't rely on tp from jump, they should use them for damage though. It's sad that most drgs i've pted to this day arent able to spam jumps. Sure it's a waste to use them when you are over 100tp, because they are an instant attack round that you can do to actually get closer to 100tp, but their damage is significant and really adds up over time.

On this dead topic though lol. I had an understanding that sky+supremacy were better than thala when i leveled (certainly not due sky's +tp, but the str and att bonus). That was before Fey and yeah this weapon can be better than both.
